The Funaotaki brand is derived from the famous Funaotaki Waterfalls that takes its water from the Haruna Lake situated in western Gunma Prefecture. From ancient times, Funaotaki Waterfalls was prohibited as a sacred place that was off limits to the public. The Funaotaki brand began after the founder Genki Shibasaki used the name of local scenic beauty for his crafted sake.
